Virtual skills-based volunteering with BHS

Volunteering with BHS is an amazing way to have an impact simply by sharing your knowledge and professional experience.

Our work is demand-driven; we seek to solve the most pressing challenges that our clients face. This means we need varied and specific skill sets. If you are an experienced professional in the health sector, we need you!

Our projects are 100% virtual with an average time commitment of 25-30 hours over 6-9 months. You can easily integrate this commitment into your working week.

You will be part of a volunteer team comprising 3-4 experts with complementary skill sets. Working together as a virtual team, collaborating with the client team, you will build leadership and problem-solving skills in a multi-cultural and resource-constrained setting.

  • By filling in and submitting the Volunteer Interest Form - see the buttons on this page

  • The BHS Volunteer Engagement Manager will contact you by email to welcome you to BHS. They shall invite you for a virtual one-to-one meeting to further discuss your skills and interests.

  • Usually yes, but we do have a small number of independent volunteers. Please do still register your interest.

  • BHS will evaluate your skills, interests and experience, and match these with a potential project. Once the matching process is complete, the Volunteer Engagement Manager will contact you by email to inform you about the available volunteer opportunity.

  • You will work with other volunteers from your organization, a team from the BHS Client, and BHS team members who will be responsible for facilitating the project.

  • Most projects have a team of three volunteers, all from the same partner company. However, this number may vary depending on the unique project needs.

  • No, our projects are virtual and you are not required to travel.

  • Most of our projects are completed through regular remote connections over a period of six to nine months.

  • Volunteering typically takes one hour per week during which time you will meet the managers, directors, or shareholders of a BHS Client to support them with technical expertise. All meetings are facilitated by BHS.
